Cloud Atlas (ILM 2012)

Here we go again, I just found this screenshot of one of the shots I worked on for Cloud Atlas, and I decided to share it with you.

We just had the chance to work in a very short sequence, 
I worked on five 5 different shots, making the city environment, modeling, lighting, shading, rendering, etc.

The traffic and the road, and the final composition was made by the ILM crew.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon (ILM 2011)

ILM! this is the reason I haven't posted anything here for a entire year, I was hired by ILM in july 2010, and I have been busy since then.

Here you can see the open sequence of the movie, I also worked on other shots, but this sequence was the main thing where I spent most of my time.

What I did? Modeling, texturing, shading, lightning, rendering, and some early composition, just to make sure all the passes were working fine, I did the environment for 5 shots.


Star Wars The Old Republic E3 Trailer (Blur Studio 2010)

Second time I worked on the Old Republic, If Im not mistaken, this was my last project at Blur, a good way to end I think ;), it was great to work at Blur Studio for 4 years and a half...great times!

What did I do? Environment dressed up, and lighting and compositing, for 11 shots.

Brink E3 Trailer (Blur Studio 2010)

I just worked few weeks on this one, maybe a month? I cant remember :), but it wasn't a long time.

What I did? I just worked for the last three shots of the cinematic, I modeled and textured some part of the environment, and also i did the lighting and compositing.

Star Wars The Force Unleashed II E3 Trailer (Blur Studio 2010)

Another Star Wars Cinematic! I had a lot of fun working on this one, specially because is based on the original trilogy universe, Darth Vader, the stormtroopers etc...it was awesome!
What I did?: My main task in this one was to create the main environment, the Hangar, I did modeling, texturing, shading, and some early lighting as well, I also had the chance to do some lighting and compositing, just for two shots.
Plus, I offered to Blur a model of a stormtrooper I had almost finish at home, they did some modifications and changes for the final cinematic, but we could say the trooper is 75% mine, 80% maybe? :), I don't know, but it was great to see it finished in a piece like this one, specially when I'm not even a character modeler.

Star Wars The Old Republic E3 Trailer (Blur Studio 2009).

Oh Yeah! Star Wars! finally one of my dreams it become real! working in some official Star Wars project...to be honest I´m not a big fan about the new trilogy and the new Star Wars universe, but at least is something official, to late for work on the original trilogy I guess.

What I did?: Vehicle modeling,texturing,shading and Lighting & Compositing.

The Goon Visual Developer Test (Blur Studio 2008).

Wow! Blur studio got the opportunity to do a entire CG Animation Movie,based on the famous comic THE GOON by Eric Power,the movie it will be produced by David Fincher and Blur Studio with Dark Horse comics.
I had the chance to do the environment for this first visual Developer test, This test was showed up at COMIC-CON 2009 in San Diego.

What I did?: Environment modeling,texturing and shading.

Halo Wars Game Cinematics (Blur Studio 2008).

I was working for some time in this project doing some environment modeling and some props.
I did the Dreadnought Obelisk, the Reactor and the Cryo Bay Environment.


What I did?: Modeling,Texture and shading.


The Cryo Bay Environment, Lighting & Compositing was made by Blur crew.

The Reactor Prop, also I did a destroyed version.

Wolfenstein 2 Game Cinematic (Blur Studio 2008).

I´m a WW2 fan boy!, I know I know, wolfenstein is not a accurate historical WW2 game, but it was enjoyable in some way.

What I did?: Modeling,Texturing,Shading and Lighting & Compositing.

Fable II Game Cinematics (Blur Studio 2008).

I was working on Fable II for some months, I did some environment modeling working on the Spire, also I did some general props for the village sequence, and I was working on five shots as
Lighting & Compositing artits as well.


What I did?: Modeling,texturing,shading and Lighting & Compositing

Tomb Raider Underworld E3 Trailer (Blur Studio 2008).

Lara Croft is back! but I just did some Lighting & Compositing on Lara for the last shot, and a couple props.




What did I do?: Prop modeling,texturing,shading and Lighting & Compositing.

Dark Void Game Cinematic (Blur Studio 2008).

Another project where I just helped out doing some texture and shading work,we used the Hi-Res models from the video game.

What I did?: Texturing and Shading.

Warhammer Online Game Cinematic (Blur Studio 2008).

I wasn´t busy in that moment but it was to late to jump on this project, so I just help out with some props, also I help out doing the stonewall you can see in the beginning before it get destroyed.

MX vs ATV Game Cinematic (Blur Studio 2007).

That project was cool, actually was the first attempt we did at Blur with Mental Ray, It was a good experience...

I did the environment you can see in those shots,unfortunately I can't upload any screen shot or wire frame.

What I did?: Environment modeling,texturing,shading and Lighting & Compositing.

Ironman Marvel Kids (Blur Studio 2007).

I only had one week to do almost all the environment on this project, after that the scene assemblers did a good job doing some make-up on it, It was looking cool in the end.

Superbowl XLII TV Spot (Blur Studio 2007).

Another NFL spot with the NFL Robot on it, this time I worked on the environment, because the character was already done :-).

What I did?: Environment modeling,prop modeling,texturing and shading.


Hellgate Game Cinematics (Blur Studio 2006-2007).

What I did?: Environment Modeling,Props Modeling,Texturing,Shading and Lighthing & Compositing.


Tabula Rasa Game Cinematic (Blur Studio 2007).

Well, this was a quick project for me, I just did the ASF Dropship, I used the game Low-Res model as a reference.

Gentlermen´s Duel Short Film (Blur Studio 2006).

Oh yeah! Blur Studio isn´t only a famous Studio for they cinematics, they are also famous for they shortfilms! so I was so lucky to work in this one, I´m still glad about it.

Tasks:Cockpit´s Interiors modeling,Props modeling,texturing,shading and Lighting & Compositing.

Jericho Game Cinematic (Blur Studio 2006).

Work in this project was kind of funny, this game was developed in Spain, so it was weird to me work with some Spanish friends again, at least working on the same project, I never thought about that possibility when I moved to LA.

I did the stone entrance, and also I help out a bit to a character modeler doing the armor and the gun for Delgado character.

NFL On FOX TV Spot (Blur Studio 2006).

After some time learning the pipeline at Blur, finally I got my first challenge, making the main character for a TV spot for FOX sports channel, I had a lot of fun doing this one, and it was kind of funny to see how this character becomes so famous on TV, even they did a toy version!, just awesome.

What I did?: Character Modeling,texturing,shading and some animation for the final transformation (Close up shots).

X-Men Legends Game Cinematic (Blur Studio 2006).

In this one I just did the Earth Planet and a Missile prop, easy stuff for a guy who doesn't know english and still learning the pipeline ;)

What I did?: Modeling,texturing and Shading.


Titan Quest Game Cinematic (Blur Studio 2006).

I just help out on this project doing a couple props...something easy.

Warhammer Fantasy Game Cinematic (Blur Studio 2006).

This one was my first project at Blur Studio, I did just some simple props and some morph targets for the Elf and the Dark Elf.
